Sixteen goals in 68 games in McAvennie's second spell with ud. Much of which was in the second tier, and is boosted by a hat trick in a meaningless final game.

To put it in perspective that's a sub-Carroll strike rate.

Re: Payet
Yeah

You fucked it up

He took longer in games the second time around to score a goal

Which wasn’t your point because you are shot at maths

No; too old.

Re: Payet
It's one of those scenarios where you don't want him back because of the way he left and his age but at the same time you would be jealous if Palace or Villa signed him instead.

Re: Payet
Kaiser......really? In the first spell a goal every 2.30 games, in the second a goal every 2.91 games.

Far Cough who knows how many Frankie would have scored if that cnut Kamara hadn't cattled him?

Kaiser Zoso 7:32 Mon Jun 10
Re: Payet
You’ve fucked that right up lato

You’ve calculated games per goal

Far Cough 7:30 Mon Jun 10
Re: Payet
McAvennie did reasonable well in his return didn't he?

Lato 7:23 Mon Jun 10
Re: Payet
Tony Cottee did ok in his second spell 23 goals in 67 games an average of 2.91. In his first spell it was 92 goals from 212 games an average of 2.30.

As for Payet its a no from me.

No different to Arnie... both greedy, shit stirring, egotistical ambitious cunts...

Re: Payet
Saw him play twice the past season and he was fucking awful.

In fact in one of the games, I didn't realise he was playing for the first half hour.

Brilliant for us for a while, but it all went to his head and he hasn't been anywhere near that player since.

I hope the bloke gets a career ending injury the arrogant fucking piss taking cunt.

Re: Payet
When you take off the rose tinted specs about payet you need to consider the following:

When he joined west ham he was 28 and not 32

He's had a serious injury since leaving west ham

will ask for stupid wages to come back

I would give anything to see 2015/6 prime payet back at west ham but unfortunately that's not longer possible

Re: Payet
Nothing mistaken in MY beliefs on the subject, Coughie; YOUR interpretation of what I said, possibly, but as I'm not a mind-reader cannot be sure what drove you to your conclusion.

I posted that I can't understand why fans want ex-players back, you posted two examples of players returning at least a generation ago that worked. Two more recent examples that did not work - the Coles Joe & Carlton could be used to counter/nullify your examples.

Re: Payet
What fucking agenda is there, you fucking idiot?

You posted something that was clearly fallacious and I responded

Far Cough 12:35 Sun Jun 9

You claim "that means any time" - that is your baggage twisting it to support whatever agenda you currently have.

As the one making the the original statement, only I know the true meaning I was trying to express.

I would expect the adult response on noticing possible ambiguity would be to ask the maker of the original statement to clarify what was meant, not to try and put words into their mouth to further your own aims.

Re: Payet
Oxsaw, you never mentioned different times, you said "What the fuck is it about fans wanting players back again?"

So that means at any time, I gave you two good examples of players performing well on their return, that of course doesn't mean Payet would relive his first season with us, and on reflection, I would say no to him returning, so stop wriggling you slippery cunt

Kaiser Zoso 12:07 Sun Jun 9
Re: Payet
Didn’t Lanzini score from a free kick?

Mike Oxsaw 11:39 Sun Jun 9
Re: Payet
FC - they were considerably different times and the game has ratcheted itself up several levels since then.

Payet's two years out of the premier league/two years older will be far more significant now - plus I don't believe he's had the French League buzzing like he had the EPL when he was with us.

Plus, as others have said, he's a moody cunt, likely to bring more disruption to the dressing room than to opposition defences.

Re: Payet
Oxsaw, Pop Robson was welcomed back as was Julian Dicks, both performed well on their return
